Striking Out

Being a swimbait fisherman and a kayak angler can sometimes be quite the struggle. You’re stacking the odds against yourself but the satisfaction of getting a fish to eat an 8+ inch bait from a small watercraft is like nothing else.

That being said sometimes the stars align and you get that one big bite and the hooks don’t connect. That’s how I felt on this particular day when I had a large fish come out of a tiny feeder creek channel and blow up on my bait.

Hey you’ve got to stay positive out there and at least now I know where she lives!
