It’s that time of year again, paddle clubs are having their annual paddle schools all across the country.
While some paddlers scoff at these events I like to see them as they truly are, a time for encouragement and instruction.
This is when new paddlers get that “fire” to develop skills and rub shoulders with boaters that have more experience.

Last month, my local paddling club TVCC had their annual paddle school and it’s always a highlight in my year.
With over 100 students and 80 instructors and support boaters, this event gets larger every year and sets a high bar for a well-organized event.
There are classes for someone who has never been in a kayak before, all the way up to advanced skills on the Middle Ocoee.
Enjoy this video and come out and be apart of this event next year!
