Nothing brings out the creepiest, scariest, spookiest and most creative costumes EVER, then the Annual White Salmon River Halloween Paddle.

Paddlers came from all over to participate in this year’s festivities.  Costumes ranged from mummy’s, to skeletons, to storm troopers . . . there was even a cute little Care Bear!

Over 40+ people met at the put-in for the Middle White Salmon, the popular class III stretch and after getting all “costumed” up, headed off to paddle various stretches of the White Salmon.

We had one of the largest groups on the Green Truss section (Class IV/V) – guessing about 30 or more people, while the others paddled the Middle (Class III) and Lower (Class II/III) sections.  There was something for everyone’s skill level . . . which is why the WS river is so special.

After paddling, we hung out with tons of yummy snacks and beverages, sharing our paddling stories from the day!  A big thanks to World Kayak for providing some refreshments at the take-out.

This “get together” has been going on for over 15+ years.  Started by Steve Morgan, White Salmon local and boater, and now continued by the Herbeck’s . . . just because we like dressing up ☺  This event started with just friends getting together in costume, to now meeting people for the first time and developing new friendships and gaining new paddling partners!

Enjoy the pics . . . We didn’t get any on the water because we were just enjoying the moment with everyone!

See you on the river,

Heather
