Local Kayaking Down a 150 Yard Slide!

Where could you kayak in the middle of January without a drytop?! Alabama that is! While visiting my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama for the holidays, we had a flash flood! I am lucky enough to have an awesome run less than 20 minutes from my house called “Capps Creek”. The run features a double-drop right into a slide that I would guess is about 150 yards long. There are a few other class 5 rapids on this creek that are rarely run, and that I haven’t done yet. Hopefully I will fire them up soon when I am not alone!
