One of the things that I love the most about kayak fishing is the places that I can explore that motor boats can’t. This is a little lake up in the mountains that we found utilizing Google Earth. It took us a bit of effort to find access utilizing old logging roads, but our persistence paid off. We have pulled 3 bass over 7lbs out of this lake since finding it.

This was a quick 2 hour trip the other morning to get a breather. I wanted to see if Largemouth would eat a new fly of mine called the Manbearpig. They did. It’s nice to be able to stand up and watch the fish come up from the depths and engulf your fly. The peaceful setting is disrupted by a predatory bass taking an 8 inch fly. My kind of morning. That’s what kayak fly fishing is all about.
