After three successful runs on Johnnie’s Creek in Alabama, some of my friends and I decided we weren’t done for the day just yet. Zack a good friend of mine had mentioned earlier in the day about a little river called Wolf Creek about ten minutes away from Johnnie’s. After our shuttle was set, we put in on a very small creek which ended up becoming one of my favorite rivers. Once we had gone about a quarter of a mile, the river got more intense starting with Mr. Big as I like to call it. This rapid starts off with about a fifteen foot fall into a little slot and then continues on a slide for about a hundred yards. After scouting the rapid, three of us decided to go run it. Once all three of us were in the little eddy above the fall the question arose, “who goes first?” Zack disappeared over the edge, then Cliff, and finally my turn. After contemplating for a second, I went for it. It was definitely one of my favorite drops. The rests of the river was tons of fun with a bunch of smaller rapids. Huge thanks to Outside World, Kokatat, Snap dragon, Core paddles and Jackson kayak for my gear to keep me paddling and to my dad Kyle for supporting and driving me to the river.
